Inspired by the Rainbow River in Colombia Caño Cristales, known as the "liquid rainbow," the colors reflect lights from the finicky aquatic plant called macarenia clavigera.
Under the exact right conditions in the second half of the year, this plant takes on bright hues from pale to hot pinks, reds to maroons, bright greens, blues, yellows and oranges.
Our artisans are the indigenous Embera Chami community of tribes who have shared their heritage crafts through five generations. Inspired by the Rainbow River, they weave these colors into their wares and fabrics.
Your purchase will greatly help the indigenous Embera-Chami artisans tribe who is currently in exile from their ancestral site occupied by the guerrilla and paramilitaries who harass the women and young men into joining the insurgent groups.

“Our project began 10 years ago, with indigenous communities in upper Putumayo. We used to collect chaquiras deep in the jungle to sell them in medicine ceremonies, then we incorporated communities from other regions, such as the Wayuu who weave backpacks and now the Embera.
I really feel very excited for the communities, that these crafts are in such a beautiful and conscious project where they are given the recognition they deserve.
Thank you for making us part of this beautiful project, Love Is Project!” - Fanny
"Love is family, protecting nature and respect for others." -Dalia Maria, Embera Chami artisan and mother of four

"What the world need more of now...LOVE!" - Chrissie
"Amen." - Mark Cuban
We went on a wild journey and appeared on Shark Tank Because nothing says love like dragging your 70 years old mom out of retirement to help with operations and finances, I brought her on the show too! ;-)
I believe LOVE is passion for what you do. Love Is Project is truly a labor of LOVE. Between my mother, Gladys, and myself, we singlehandedly run this organization full-time. We are the definition of a scrappy, big-hearted start-up always looking to meet the moment and jump in to help where we can. Powered by LOVE and a tribe of collaborators, mentors, friends, and a worldwide support system, Love Is Project exists. ♥
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support!
xo, Chrissie
